Friend Raghavendra Kumar Dixit has woven glimpses of his life memoirs in a very interesting way in a book whose title itself is a synonym for life -- "Peedhi Dar Peedhi"! Some heard from ancestors and the rest seen with his own eyes.
Raghav ji and I are of the same age, both born in 1946, and obviously being contemporaries, we both have many happy memories of our childhood and youth with less struggle and more comfort. Because of this one specialty, it was difficult to count the number of times my eyes became moist while reading Raghav ji's memoirs. Just one example will suffice -- how eagerly we used to wait for each new issue of "Chanda Mama"!
Another specialty of these memoir articles is the flow of their language and style. This book has become extremely interesting and readable due to the very colloquial language and style. Secondly, Raghav ji's sense of humor is so great that I burst out laughing again and again. For example, I laughed so much at the thought of chickens reciting Hanuman Chalisa out of fear in human form that my stomach hurt, and then the minute details of the recipe of Kanojia Bukunu made me drool.
Anyway, if I start giving more examples, then these "two words" will become so long that it will feel like an unnecessary obstacle between the readers and this interesting memoir. So, this is all for now.
In the end, many many congratulations to Raghavendra ji for becoming a Sahib-e-Kitab Congratulations, and best wishes that this book reaches a larger readership and that they like it as much as I did.
